Ottawa Comiccon 2025 – A Chill Weekend of Fandom, Cosplay, and Capital-City Geekery
Ottawa Comiccon rolled into the EY Centre from September 5–7, 2025, and as usual, it completely transformed the space into a three-day celebration of all things fandom. The show packed in celebrity guests, artists, creators, fan groups, and a massive vendor floor full of everything from comics to collectibles to hand-made fandom goodies. Whether you dropped in for a single day or tackled the whole weekend, there was a lot to take in.
The Con Floor Vibes
The Exhibition Hall was packed! Vendors had everything: retro games, figures, prints, custom art, high-end collectibles, plushies, handmade props—you name it. If you’re the kind of person who says “I’ll just browse,” this con absolutely tested your willpower.
Celebrity guests were a major draw this year too, with names like Jenna Coleman, Bob Morley, Eliza Taylor, Vincent D’Onofrio, Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, and Rob Van Dam making appearances. Panels ran throughout the weekend, with everything from actor Q&As to how-to workshops for creators and cosplayers.
Cosplay Was Everywhere – and It Was Awesome
As always, cosplay stole the show. Everywhere you turned, someone was rocking an incredible build, a clever mashup, or a nostalgic throwback that made you yell “OMG, I remember that!” Be sure to check out our Cosplay at Ottawa Comiccon 2025 Gallery Post for glimpse at some of the great cosplays we photographed. Fan groups like the 501st and Ghostbusters crews brought their usual magic (and charity tables), while local creators showed up with some truly impressive armor builds and prop work.

The Masquerade – A Packed House
Saturday night’s Masquerade was one of the biggest highlights of the weekend. The room filled up fast as cosplayers across all divisions—Junior, Novice, Artisan, and Master—took the stage to show off their work. There was a mix of everything: armor that looked like it walked off a film set, beautifully crafted gowns, animé transformations, gaming icons, and some very fun original takes.
Awards were handed out on Sunday, but honestly, the craftsmanship level this year made it feel like everyone deserved recognition. Ottawa also hosted qualifiers for the Cosplay-Eh! Canadian Cosplay Championship, and those competitors absolutely brought their A-game. The finalists heading to the national stage definitely earned those spots.
Ottawa Comiccon 2025 delivered what fans in the capital love about this show: a big vendor hall, great guests, tons of panels, active fan groups, and—of course—cosplayers bringing the heart and energy that make the con feel alive. It might’ve been a slightly quieter year for some attendees, but the community spirit and creativity more than made up for it.
Whether you came for the shopping, the cosplay, the photo ops, the Masquerade, or just to hang out with friends who love the same nerdy stuff you do, it was a solid weekend of pure fandom fun.

Guest Cosplayers
This year’s Ottawa Comiccon brought in an awesome lineup of guest cosplayers to help judge the weekend’s big competitions. For Cosplay-EH!, the judging panel featured ChunkyChickadee, Damage, and Mae-Gwyn Cosplay, each bringing their own experience, craftsmanship, and maker expertise to the competition. Over at the Masquerade, the judging team included Bandit Spurs, Bubbleerza, and Makarassassin, who spent the evening evaluating everything from performance to construction up close. And while she wasn’t part of the judging panels, Jessica Harkonnen appeared as a featured guest cosplayer hosting a panel for every day of the con giving fans tips, laughs, and plenty of inspiration.
